CERTIFICATE III IN CHRISTIAN MINISTRY AND THEOLOGY - VETA MORPHUS

Vetamorphus is a national discipleship program which focuses on raising up a generation of young leaders to reach beyond the potential they see in themselves into the potential God has prepared for them. Vetamorphus is part of Vocational Education Training and counts towards your VCE Certificate. This program offers Year 11 and 12 students the opportunity to invest in their spiritual development whilst working toward their academic goals. Vetamorphus is based on an action/reflection model of learning, giving students the opportunity to not just learn about theology but the chance to put it into practice in their day to day lives.

 

Students who wish to undertake Vetamorphus must first discuss this with the VCE Coordinator. Please note that selection of Vetamorphus incurs an additional cost. Further information can also be found on the Vetamorphus course website directly below.

Certificate III in Equine Studies is a state accredited curriculum which provides access to direct employment opportunities in the equine or equine related industries, principally as stable or stud hand or as an assistant. The VET Equine program enables students to gain recognised qualifications and make an informed choice for their continued studies or career path.

 

This course is designed as a two year study and students must complete and participate in all units and modules from Unit 1-4 to gain VET qualifications.

 

Students cannot begin VET studies in Unit 3-4 and must complete Unit 1-2 as a prerequisite.

VET EQUINE (CERTIFICATE III) 
UNIT 1 & 2

Units 1 and 2 covers units such as working in an equine organisation, safe handling and daily care of horses and equine anatomy. Elective units include horse riding and driving, preparing horses for competition, assisting in the conduct of an equine industry event. The College horses are regularly utilised for the practical component of the course.

VET EQUINE (CERTIFICATE III)
UNIT 3 & 4

Units 3 and 4 covers units such as providing basic emergency life support, working effectively in the industry, work safely in an equine organisation, provide daily care of horses, handling horses safely and equine anatomy. Elective units include: demonstrate basic horse riding skills and assist in the conduct of an even in the equine industry. The College horses are regularly utilised for the practical component of the course.

Certificate II in Kitchen Operations (Hospitality): 

This certificate is from a national training package and offers a portable qualification recognised throughout Australia. This qualification provides students with a broad range of skills and knowledge to pursue a career or further training in the hospitality industry.  The hospitality areas include commercial cookery and catering. Students will be able to work part time or full time as a breakfast cook, catering assistant, fast food cook, sandwich hand, and takeaway cook. Students will be able to work in a variety of venues including, restaurants, hotels, catering operations, clubs, pubs, cafés, coffee shops, institutions, aged care facilities, hospitals and schools.

This certificate prepares students with a limited range of food preparation and cookery skills to prepare food and menu items. Includes units such as; preparing appetisers and salads, preparing stocks, soups and sauces, preparing vegetable, fruit and farinaceous dishes, preparing poultry dishes.

This is a two year course.  Credit is given in VCE and VCAL when there is recognition of two or more units in sequence at Unit 1 and  2 and Unit 3 and 4 level.

VET Hospitality (Certificate II)
UNIT 1 & 2

Units 1 and 2 covers modules such as working effectively with others, using food preparation equipment, prepare dishes using basic methods of cookery, clean kitchen premises and equipment, use hygienic practices for food safety, maintain the quality of perishable items and participate in safe work practices.

This course covers both semesters, with Unit 1 covered in Semester 1 and Unit 2 covered in Semester 2.

VET Hospitality (Certificate II)

UNIT 3 & 4

Units 3 and 4 focuses on effective cookery skills to prepare appetisers and salads, stock, sauces and soups, vegetable, fruit, egg and farinaceous dishes, and poultry dishes.

This course covers both semesters, with Unit 3 covered in Semester 1 and Unit 4 covered in Semester 2.  It can contribute to a student's ATAR for VCE if selected as a scored course.

VET MUSIC INDUSTRY PERFORMANCE (CERTIFICATE III)
UNIT 1 & 2

Units 1 and 2 covers units such as contribution of health and safety of self and others, implement copyright arrangements, work effectively in the music industry, apply knowledge of style and genre to music industry practice. Furthermore, students have the opportunity to select two elective units from an elective bank.

This course covers both semesters with Unit 1 covered in Semester 1 and Unit 2 covered in Semester 2.

VET MUSIC INDUSTRY PERFORMANCE (CERTIFICATE III)

UNIT 3 & 4

Units 3 and 4 covers units such as develop technical skills in performance, prepare for performances, develop improvisation skills and develop and maintain stagecraft skills. Furthermore, students have the opportunity to select one elective unit from one of the following two units: Perform music as part of a group or Perform music as a soloist.

This course covers both semesters, with Unit 3 covered in Semester 1 and Unit 4 covered in Semester 2.  It can contribute to a student's ATAR for VCE if selected as a scored course.  

VET DANCE (CERTIFICATE II)

The VET Dance program is delivered over 2 years. Typically, students undertaking the program will complete the 2-year course over years 10 and 11, or years 11 and 12. Students successfully completing the course will be awarded the Certificate II in Dance CUA20113.

The Certificate II in Dance (CUA20113) is a nationally recognised training program. The course develops industry-specific workplace skills in Dance that may lead to basic level industry opportunities or further education in the dance industry. Students who successfully complete the required coursework and assessment tasks receive a Certificate II in Dance, which is a Vocational Education and Training (VET) certificate.

VET Dance can be taken as a part of a VCE program, achieving a study score that can count towards your ATAR. Alternately, VET Dance can be taken as a part of a VCAL program.

Certificate III in Music Industry (Performance) is offered to students under the auspices of the College of Sound and Music Production. This qualification is for those students who have an interest in music and are keen to develop skills as a musician with the aim to perform and compose music.

 

Music Performance Specialisation provides students with the opportunity to apply a broad range of knowledge and skills in varied work contexts in the music industry. Depending on the electives chosen, students will work towards composing simple songs or musical pieces and preparing for performances, whilst developing improvisation skills, applying knowledge of genre to music making and performing music as part of a group or as a soloist. Students will gain competencies that will enhance their employment opportunities within the music industry and a recognised qualification that will assist them in making a more informed choice when considering vocational/career pathways.
