ENGLISH FACULTY

The English curriculum at Year 8 aims to ensure that students learn to listen to, read, view, speak, write, create and reflect on increasingly complex and sophisticated texts. These texts include spoken, written and multimodal forms across a growing range of genres. Students will learn to appreciate and use the English language in its many variations and develop a sense of its richness and power to evoke feelings. Students build their understanding and use of Standard Australian English in its spoken and written forms. Students create a range of imaginative, analytical and persuasive text types.
