HEALTH EDUCATION
YEAR 7
Students will learn about how the relationship they form with the people in their lives have an impact on their health and wellbeing. The Big Ideas that students will explore include; relationships, establishing and managing changing relationships all explored from a Christian perspective. Physical changes, power and support services. Students will learn about factors that contribute to their safety and that of others in various settings, including home, school, social situations and natural environments. Students will explore topics such as respectful relationship, bullying & harassment, personal safety plans, exercising safely, being safe outdoors and basic first aid.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION
YEAR 7
Students participate in a variety of Invasion and Striking sports along with a series of fitness tests to assist them in identifying the different elements of fitness while improving their personal fitness. Using game sense activities students concentrate on refining their skills and demonstrating control when composing skill sequences. Physical Education involves teamwork and social interaction, a time for exercising Christian character required to work collaboratively during practical lessons and to maintain respectful relationships that promote fair play and inclusivity.
