HEALTH EDUCATION
YEAR 8

Students will learn of the benefits of incorporating outdoor activities in everyday life and concepts such as minimal impact when involved in outdoor pursuits. Students learn to see the connections between themselves and the world around them and examine their relationship with God. Students will learn energy and nutrition requirements for healthy living and performance, identify and manage factors that influence eating habits, and make informed decisions about eating. Students will understand the trends and consequences of eating habits in Australia and the factors that shape these trends.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION
YEAR 8

During physical education students have participated in a variety of Invasion, Striking and Net-wall sports. They have also completed a series of fitness tests to assist them with identifying and improving their fitness levels. When playing different sports, and in game sense activities students have concentrated on refining their skills, and demonstrating control and accuracy when composing skill sequences. Students are required to work collaboratively during practical lessons and to maintain respectful relationships that promote fair play and inclusivity.
