HUMANITIES - GEOGRAPHY
YEAR 8
The Year 8 Geography study consists of two topics: Landscapes and Landforms, and Changing Nations.

Landscapes and Landforms focuses on the variety of landscapes and the forces that shape them. Students will study the aesthetic, emotional, spiritual and economic value of landscapes and how they are managed.

Changing Nations investigates the changing human geography of countries, as revealed by shifts in population distribution. Through both topics students learn about our responsibility towards God's creation, in terms of stewardship and care. They learn of the impact we have on the world and on each other, and how both can best be managed in order to glorify God.
HUMANITIES - HISTORY
YEAR 8
Students develop their historical understanding and skills of chronological sequencing, using sources of evidence, continuity and change, cause and effect, and historical significance. They do this through investigative studies of Medieval Europe and Renaissance Italy as focal time periods for historical inquiries. In addition to this, students continue developing their understanding of Civics and Citizenship. These units are taught with a Christian perspective that show God’s wisdom in the rise and fall of individuals, nations, and countries throughout time and place.
