DESIGN AND TECHNOLOGIES: FOOD

YEAR 8

This course provides students with an understanding of how the Australian Guide to Healthy Eating Model promotes good health. The importance of safety and hygiene when preparing food is incorporated throughout the course. Students learn about properties of food, appropriate selection of ingredients and correct use of tools and equipment in order to competently design, prepare and evaluate a range of food products in response to design briefs.
