Rapid Prototyping Computers

Robotics

Semester 1

In this unit students will combine the use of the Arduino Nano micro-controller, and 3D design and print technology to design and create an autonomous vehicle. Students will design and print 3D objects using Fusion 360 and the 3D printers. Students will have the opportunity to code LED strips in various and complex ways as they learn C++ using the Arduino IDE. Student will also learn to use the various 3D printers available in the STEM Centre at Hillcrest, including the Anycubic i3Mega, the Anycubic Chiron, the Flashforge Creator 3 and the Formlabs Form 3 Resin Printer.

Rapid Prototyping Computers

Semester 2

In this unit students will combine the use of microprocessor like the Arduino Nano and ESP32, and 3D print technology to design, create and install a data logger for agricultural applications. They will execute all aspects of the design and build of innovative digital technologies. They will learn to code the microprocessors using the C++ programming language. Students will design and print 3D objects using Fusion 360 and the 3D printers that are available in the STEM Labs at Hillcrest. There will be the opportunity to train in the use and maintenance of the Anycubic i3Mega, the Anycubic Chiron, the Flashforge Creator 3 and the Formlabs Form 3 Resin Printer.
