Semester 1

Students study a range of drawing techniques, used in the production of visual communications. Students learn to use specific technical and digital drawing instruments and tools, as well as problem solving relating to the design elements and principles in response to a given brief. Using their God given talents, students design a range of visual communications by applying the design process and presenting a final design solution. Students draw inspiration from research of historical and contemporary designs and follow the design process to demonstrate critical and reflective design thinking.

Semester 2

This unit focuses on introducing a range of the essential skills required for Visual Communication Design. The students will learn a range of different drawing methods and learn how to depict form and three-dimensional space in a variety of styles. Design work is developed using freehand, instrumental and computer assisted drawing techniques.
