ART 1
YEAR 10
In this unit of work students creatively explore concepts surrounding themes of 'Identity' and are provided the opportunity to explore their Christian faith through interpretation of values. Students prepare for VCE expectations by creating a studio process, including artistic inspiration, sketches and drawings, student photographic/digital resources, materials investigation and a minimumum of 2x potential directions and One (1) finished piece in the form of a ‘folio of work’. Students analyse a range of art styles and artists as a means of interpretation of art works and artistic processes, to complement their folio work.
ART 2
YEAR 10
In this unit of work students explore concepts surrounding themes 'Inspired by Place' and are provided the opportunity to explore their Christian faith through interpretation of values. Students prepare for VCE expectations by creating a studio process, including artistic inspiration, sketches and drawings, student created photographic/digital resources, materials investigation and a range of potential directions and One (1) finished piece in the form of a ‘folio of work’. Students analyse a range of art styles and artists as a means of interpretation of art works and artistic processes, to complement their folio work.
MEDIA 1
YEAR 10
In Semester 1, students will explore the theme of ‘genre’ in the media to create two productions. Students follow the media process that includes developing ideas, planning, completing production, post-production and distribution. Students complete research on genre, audiences and using their God given talents, students respond to productions such as films and short films and movie posters. Students study the media codes and conventions, explore the functions of the camera and experiment with software such as Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Pro.
MEDIA 2
YEAR 10
In Semester 2, students will explore the theme of ‘representation and stereotypes’ in the media to create two productions. Students follow the media process that includes developing ideas, planning, completing production, post-production and distribution. Students complete research of advertisements, audiences and using their God given talents, students respond to productions such as commercials, and print advertisement. Students study the media codes, explore the functions of the camera and experiment with software such as Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Pro.
VISUAL COMMUNICATION DESIGN 1
YEAR 10
In Semester 1, students will explore a ‘kitchen’ theme related imagery in all fields of design: Communication, Industrial and Environmental Design. Students will be introduced to the Design Elements and Principles and gouache paints to illustrate and design a cookbook cover page and recipe page spread as well as analyse a range of designs. Students will also learn the skills involved in 2D and 3D technical drawings to design a kitchen stool inspired by Charles and Ray Eames. An interior design will also be developed for a kitchen concept, including a floor plan, elevation, perspective drawing, planometric drawing. Students will develop concepts by working through the design process to finished presentations, using a wide range of media and materials including manual and digital processes.
VISUAL COMMUNICATION DESIGN 2
YEAR 10
In Semester 2, students will explore a ‘music’ theme related imagery in all fields of design: Communication, Industrial and Environmental Design. Students will be introduced to the Design Elements and Principles and collage to an album cover as well as analyse a range of designs. Students will also learn the skills involved in 2D and 3D technical drawings to design a speaker inspired by historical and contemporary references. A stage design will also be developed for a including a floor plan, elevation, perspective drawing, planometric drawing. Students will develop concepts by working through the design process to finished presentations, using a wide range of media and materials including manual and digital processes.
